General Information
1. This Role-play is set on a DIFFERENT PLOT from the House of Night novels. (Check out the Plot section for details)
2. The maximum amount of threads you may participate in at one time is FIVE. This is to ensure other players are not left behind.
3. Liquid time is observed here; meaning you can be in two places at once.
4. If you are a Fledgling or a Vampyre, you may not imprint on ANY character without the permission of the admin (Nyx).
5. You may NOT create new legends. We run strictly off of HON legends only. It is a delicate balance of Celtic, Greek, and Cherokee legend, and we don't want to throw off that balance.
6. Guests MUST NOT sign up for accounts with Canon Characters! This will result in AUTOMATIC rejection and deletion of accounts. We have no canon characters.
7. We are ONLY accepting Character requests at this time for Blue Fledglings and Vampyres, Changelings, Humans, Marked Changelings, and Changeling Vampyres. In order to become a Red Fledgling, your fledgling must reject the Change(see Nyx's Random Event). In order to become a Red Vampyre, your Red Fledgling must complete the Change(See Nyx's Random Event).
8. Only sixth formers and Vampyres may create their own affinity in their application, but others can be gifted by Nyx. (See Nyx's Random Event)
9. If your character is a human, there is a chance that they will be Marked. If you do not want to have this chance, specifically say so in your application.
Please follow these rules while interacting with other players.
1. Do not use harsh profanities. Words like 'crap' etc. are fine, but not too many explicit words, please.
2. Do not have Out Of Character arguments on the board. If you have any problems, please inform the mods, or admin.
3. Don't use net-speak. It's really annoying, and people just don't like it.
4. Have a great time. :)
Please follow these rules when posting on the boards.
1. Use proper grammar. Nothing is more ugly than bad grammar. Please use spell-check if you are unsure of spelling.
2. Don't make posts that are too short. The guideline for this is at least five sentences.
3. Make sure you put a lot of flesh into your writing; like describing things around you such as the environment.
4. Do NOT power-play other characters. You cannot make another player's character do any kind of action. Power-playing will result in a warning, then a penalty.
5. Use bold tags when conversing. EG: "Hello, how are you", she said. You may also use colored and bold text for speech if you so wish.
7. Please, no NC-17 posts.
8. Please put the full name of your character as your display name after you've been approved. You can change this via the 'Profile' tab.
Writing Style:
1. Everything is to be written in first person, mostly because this is the writing style of the books. If you do not do so, you will be reminded(nagged) until you do.
2. Please don't type your entries using net-speak. (omg, lyk, h8, lol, etc...) Net-speak is okay for Out Of Character, but it doesn't belong in roleplaying.
3. Follow the current plot as much as you can. When in doubt, check the plot development thread.
4. Interaction is a key part of roleplaying. Make sure you base your posts on large amounts of character interaction. If you do not speak/interact with another character, it is likely that they will not want to do the same to you and you'll be stuck roleplaying with yourself.
5. Posts mustn't be shorter than one paragraph (five sentences) at a MINIMUM.
6.Please also remember that you cannot assume another character's thoughts because you cannot read minds (unless that is your gift).
7. Please try and make posts consist of writing other than just dialogue. If need be, post what your character is thinking, scenery, environmental happenings, etc.. Posts consisting of only dialogue quickly turn into something resembling instant messenger...
Regarding Multiple Characters/Accounts:
1. There is no limit to the amount of characters you may have, just use your common sense, and don't bite off more than you can chew...
2. A good rule of thumb is to play one character for two to four weeks before adding another. Things can be a bit slow until you get to know people.
Just have fun guys!! :)
