THE PLOT OF THE HOUSE OF NIGHT NOVELS IS ALMOST IRRELEVANT TO THIS POINT! ZOEY'S COMINGS AND GOINGS ARE NOT COMMON KNOWLEDGE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD.
Welcome to the DALLAS House of Night. Life goes on here, and classes are still in session. But we have some serious problems brewing outside of the school walls. Humans in the "Bible Belt' are becoming more and more restless living close to Vampyres, and they are trying to find a way to wipe them off the face of the earth without causing themselves to lose face, or lose political standing. Their twisted prayers are soon answered when a new race of mythical beings reveals itself.
Stories of the Faeries stealing human babies, and leaving their own young(in the form of Changelings), in their place had been told since the dawn of time, but they were supposed to have been ways to explain why some babies didn't look like their parents(a good excuse for cheating wives). But when real-life Changelings begin showing up, things begin to get heated.
A Changeling looks like a human, talks like a human, and walks like a human, when they're in the form of a human. But They have a secret power, inherited from their Fae ancestors, to shape shift. Some can only become one animal, or one color of any animal, or some can become anything they can imagine, real or not( Dragons and such). But one thing they almost all have in common is a hatred for Vampyres, the daughters and sons of Nyx. See, these are not the children of sprites and other peaceful Fae, but the children of a line of evil Faeries, sprung from the footprints of the white bull himself, and feeding off the tears of the afflicted.
So the humans begin to use the Changelings(those that know their real nature) to kill all the Vampyre race, and it gets even worse for the Vamps. Some of the Changelings were Marked, just like any human, and sent to the Houses of Night around the globe, and most don't even know what they are. Will they answer the call of their blood, or fight against their own kin?
So there you have it. A new species, an epic war between the forces of good and evil, and if that doesn't suit you, there are still classes to take. High school sucks...
